Christopher Stringer, CPA

Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer


Christopher Stringer, in his role as the senior vice president and chief financial officer (CFO) for the University, advises the president and the administrators, regarding all fiscal matters for the University and its affiliate, the New Jersey State Library. He also serves as the comptroller for the Thomas Edison State University Foundation Inc.

In these capacities, he manages all fiscal affairs for the University, the State Library and the Foundation. This includes accounting, financial reporting, audits, student financial account billing and receipts, financial aid awarding and disbursements, purchasing, payments, payroll, compliance with federal and state regulations, facilities and space planning, debt management, grant management and investments.

Prior to his appointment as vice president and CFO, Stringer served in several capacities at the University, including controller. Stringer started his career at a Big Four public accounting firm specializing in public services that included higher education.

Stringer earned his MBA with a concentration in accounting from Montclair State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. He is an active certified public accountant (CPA).
