Three PMBA Degree Tracks


The 30-credit PMBA reflects an innovative advancement in online, adult-centric business and management education. Its innovative scholar-practitioner designed curriculum provides discipline focus, maximizes course flexibility, and accelerates time-to-degree completion.

The PMBA offers three different Tracks:

  1. Area of Study*
  2. Student Designed
  3. Masters-to-Doctorate

*Transfer up to 12-15 credits from accredited graduate degree programs

Program Structure


Total Credits: 30. All students complete the core courses, then select one of three tracks.
  • Core Courses (15 Credits)

    All students complete:

    • ETM-7500 Ethics for Managers
    • MKM-7000 Marketing Management
    • FIN-7100 Financial Management
    • SOP-7200 Strategic Operations Management
    • GSM-7300 Global Strategic Management
  • Track 1: Traditional Area of Study

    Structure

    • Core Courses: 15 credits (5 courses)
    • Area of Study: 12 credits (4 courses)
    • Elective Course: 3 credits

    Students complete an established University-approved area of study (e.g., Human Resource Management or other approved areas).

  • Track 2: Student Designed PMBA

    Structure

    • Core Courses: 15 credits (5 courses)
    • Elective Course: 15 credits (5 courses)
  • Track 3: PMBA to Doctorate (M-to-D Pathway)

    Structure

    • Core Courses: 15 credits
    • Research and Capstone Courses: 6 credits
    • Doctoral-Level Courses: 6 credits
    • Elective Course: 3 credits

    • ORR-7100: Organizational Research
    • MBA-7300: MBA Capstone
    Doctoral Courses
    • DBA-8000: Critical Thought and Informed Action
    • OML-8020: Seminar in Leadership and Culture

    Students may enroll in the doctoral-level courses after completing 15 master’s credits and meeting eligibility criteria, including:

    • Minimum 3.0 graduate GPA
    • Grade of B or higher in doctoral courses
    • Final review and approval by School of Business leadership

    Upon formal admission to the Doctor of Business Administraion or Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership, Culture, and Change, up to six (6) credits apply directly toward the 48-credit doctoral degree.

    The MBA degree program with an area of study in Accounting emphasizes both the theoretical understanding of emerging issues as well as an advanced curriculum of financial and managerial accounting.
