Practicum Preparation
One Practicum Course is included in each area of specialty offered in the MSN degree.
To prepare for the Practicums students must read and access the Practicum Packet. Forms must be submitted according to the timeline in the packet. Once forms are received, students will receive an approval email.
Practicum Forms

Part A: Intent to Register Form (Due 6 months prior to Practicum Start)
Submit the Part A: Intent to Register Form 24 weeks (2 terms) prior to the term you intend to register for the first Practicum course. You will be notified by your graduate advisor when your practicum site and preceptor is approved.

Nurse Educator Students Only Part C: Intent to Register Form (Due 6 months prior to Practicum Start)
Submit the Part C: Intent to Register Form 24 weeks (2 terms) prior to the term you intend to register for the first Practicum course. The Practicum Part C form is required for the Direct Care Experience portion of the Practicum (Nurse Educator students). You will be notified by your graduate advisor when your direct care practicum site and preceptor is approved.

Delineation Forms
- Access the Delineation of Responsibilities Form
- Submit the signed form to your nursing advisor at least two weeks before the practicum start date.
- NURSE EDUCATOR STUDENTS ONLY: Access the Delineation of Responsibilities Form (Direct Care Hours) (Due 6 months prior to practicum start)
Additional Requirements and Resources
- All students must create and maintain an account with CastleBranch, the vendor for Background Checks and Compliance Tracking. All students must be in full compliance four months before the start of the practicum. CastleBranch can be accessed at portal.castlebranch.com/HZ14. Questions about ordering or uploading documents? - Many of our clinical partners have notified us that all students must be fully vaccinated, including full vaccination for COVID-19, to participate in any clinical or practicum experience in their facilities. If you cannot show proof that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at least 30 days prior to starting your clinical activities, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to find appropriate clinical placement and successfully complete your program of study.
- An updated resume or Curriculum Vitae (CV) must be submitted with the initial practicum paperwork. A sample resume and sample CV have been provided.
