Tuition Aid Grant (TAG)

TAG is a need-based state grant program offered to eligible students whom are New Jersey state residents attending New Jersey state institutions.
To be eligible for a TAG award, undergraduate students must meet the following criteria:
- Be a New Jersey resident for at least 12 consecutive months.
- Be enrolled full time in one of our July through December terms for Fall and/or our January through April terms for Spring.
- Be seeking their first associates degree or first bachelor’s degree.
- Have an NJEI (New Jersey Eligibility Index) between 0-7500.
Students must complete the 2025-2026 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the New Jersey Alternate Financial Aid Application by the following dates:
- Fall 2025: April 15, 2025 if TAG was received in the previous year or September 15, 2025 if TAG was not received in the previous year
- Spring 2026: February 15, 2026
Students will automatically be considered for TAG upon completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or, if a student qualifies as a N.J. Dreamer, the New Jersey Alternative Financial Aid Application.
Students are required to meet satisfactory academic progress and course engagement standards in order for the TAG award to be applied.
