What You'll Learn

    The NFLP grant pays for tuition and books for students with their MS(N) taking DNP along with Nursing Education Certification Courses.

    The NFLP eligibility is:

    1. Acceptance into the DNP program
    2. A FASFA application
    3. Completing a demographic questionnaire
    4. Signing an anticipated plan of study

    The NFLP recipients will be advised and sign a promissory note.

    The NFLP grant funds are forgiven at 85% when graduates teach/precept/mentor/educator full-time for 4 academic years in program of nursing or in the clinical area.

Admission Requirements


  • Applicant Requirements

    Applicants must have:

    • An MSN degree from an institutionally accredited higher education institution and a nationally accredited school of nursing (CCNE, CNEA or ACEN) OR a BSN degree from an institutionally accredited school of nursing and a master's degree in a related discipline from an institutionally accredited higher education institution
    • A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher in the master’s program
    • A current valid active registered nurse (RN) license in the United States or United States Territory where the DNP project will be completed is required.
    • Relevant professional work experience is recommended
  • What You'll Need to Apply

    As part of your application, you'll need to submit:

    • Name and contact information for two professional references (educator, supervisor, professional colleague)
    • Well-written statement of background and goals and an essay (instructions)
    • Current resumé
    • Relevant professional work experience (two years recommended)

    After you have completed your application, please upload your essay and resume. You'll then complete an interview with the Admissions Committee.
