TESU Named South Jersey Biz Editor's Choice for Higher Education – Online

“South Jersey Biz” magazine has named Thomas Edison State University (TESU) as the Editor’s Choice for Higher Education — Online in its annual “Best of Biz 2025” awards. The recognition underscores the University’s leadership in delivering flexible, high-quality education tailored to the needs of working adults.
The award comes as TESU continues to expand opportunities for adult learners. In January 2026, the University will introduce 15 new certificate programs in fields ranging from Political Science to Forensic Psychology, offering learners new pathways to advance their careers. TESU is also growing its innovative apprenticeship pathways, which enable skilled tradespeople to convert their professional training and on-the-job experience into college credit. In addition, the University recently launched a newly revamped Master of Public Administration and introduced a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Organizational Leadership to meet evolving workforce needs.
“This honor from ‘South Jersey Biz’ reflects our unwavering commitment to providing flexible, relevant and rigorous learning opportunities for adult students,” said Dr. Merodie A. Hancock, president of TESU. “We are constantly innovating to meet students where they are in their educational journey — whether that’s building on career experience, earning a credential to pivot to a new role or pursuing advanced degrees that make an impact in their communities.”
“South Jersey Biz’s” “Best of Biz” list highlights organizations across the region that demonstrate excellence in their industries, from professional services to education and technology. TESU’s selection as Editor’s Choice for Higher Education — Online affirms the University’s position as a leader in accessible, career-focused learning.
